which was the Salary of the late incumbent of the office; on referring to certain deepatches from bor S. 9. Bonham to the Right Honorable The Earl Grey it appeared that Sir J. G. Bonham therein proposed to reduce the expenditure of the Colony as far as practicable and with reference to this particular ease the Lord Grey in despatch_ No 64 of the 19th February 1850, directed and dent that upon the recurrence of a racaney the Salary should be the reduced from £300 to £200 por anum. which was the original sum assigned to the office-
